“
I started working with Clay while deployed to Afghanistan. Together we designed a program that prepared me for Special Forces Selection and later earning my Green Beret. I knew how to do all of the components but never had a real plan. Embracing the concept of being a Tactical Athlete made physical training a structured priority, not an afterthought.

Train Now to Perform When it Counts
Tactical Athletes are a unique type of athlete. We drill combatives, meticulously maintain equipment and spend countless hours at the shooting range.
-
- Tactical Athletes spend 98% of their time preparing for 2% of the time – moments of chaos.
- The body is a tool, a weapon, and sometimes a lifeline.
- Is your body as prepared as your equipment for the inevitable moment of chaos?
The Problem with Physical Training
No one is using equipment from the 1940s, and yet we’re still training our Tactical Athletes like it is WWII.
-
- Calisthenics, five-mile jogs in tennis shoes and crunches are still the staple of PT.
- Our kit has become heavier, days have become longer, and yet the physical training stays the same.
- Are you spending your time in the gym doing something worthwhile?
Mind, Body and … Injury Prevention
Tactical Performance needs to go beyond strength and conditioning. Mental Toughness, Performance Nutrition, and Injury Prevention are the intangibles.
-
- If you’re as strong as an ox, but you are also as agile as one, you’re just a liability.
- Being able to sprint up 10 flights of stairs in full kit means nothing if you can’t put it on because of a bum shoulder.
- When was the last time your prioritized the intangibles?
Be a Tactical Athlete
The time has passed where Military, Fire/Rescue, and Law Enforcement athletes can ignore fitness, save for once or twice a year when you go through mandatory testing.
-
- YOU are the one that has volunteered to go into harm’s way.
- Clay has been there and made it out the other side and knows that you either perform or become a liability.
- Ready to train like the athlete you really are?
