In endurance sports, the concept of “strength and conditioning” can vary from coach to coach. After meeting Clay and hearing about his training philosophy, I decided to give it a shot. Clay worked with both our Nordic skiing and Track & Field teams. Some of the biggest improvements were with our female athletes, who went from regionally competitive to becoming some of the top athletes in the state.

Master the Fundamentals

All the chain squats, rubber band drills, and parachute runs in the world are pointless if athletes have not learned the fundamentals.
