My first experience with real training was Clay kicking our asses at High School football practice three days a week. It went well beyond standard strength and conditioning. He held captains accountable for the team, taught mental toughness, discipline and most importantly hard work. It paid off. We went from a last-place team to top of the conference in a year – because we were taught to work harder than everyone else.

The Challenge of Team Camps

Pre-season or off-season conditioning camps start off well-intentioned but the preparation involved soon becomes overwhelming.

  • You don’t have the time to be strength and conditioning experts too.
  • Conditioning camps often devolve into skill work and open hours in the weight room.
  • All types of athletes benefit from a foundation of strength in the off-season (yes, even endurance athletes!).

Benefit from a Partnership

If the goal is to spend a week getting ready for the season, then a structured week of training is the solution.

  • Jumpstart the off-season training with strength and conditioning work designed to prepare athletes for on-field practice.
  • We teach coaches the programming and workouts alongside the athletes.
  • We give athletes a training plan for the remainder of the off-season using principles developed during camp week.

What You Get From a Camp

Give a man a fish; he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he eats for life. Not only do the athletes get an intense week of conditioning, but you have the tools to take the program forward for the rest of the year.

  • The majority of the time is spent doing hands-on-coaching through the movements.
  • We have a plug and play programming method that is tailored to your sport.
  • Unlimited access to review programming and workout designs. We meant what we said about building a partnership.

How it Works with Ektelo

First of all, let’s have a phone call or coffee (or beer…) and make sure we’re a good fit. We want to build a partnership with you. Let’s set up a time to chat.

  • We come to your facility for a 5-day clinic to work with your equipment and resources.
  • Mornings are spent working with the athletes on a variety of workouts and drills. By noon on Friday, they will have trouble walking to the car.
  • Afternoons are designed for coaches to learn the academic side of strength and conditioning, like Fundamentals of Performance, Strength Training Coaching, Injury Prevention, Performance Nutrition, and Programming – among others.
